Biography
Twin sisters Sara and Sanaz Zaher graduated with Master’s degrees from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) under the guidance of Prof. Jorgos Panetsos. They further pursued their Postgraduate studies in Performance and Ensemble Playing.
Duo Zaher captivates audiences with masterful interpretations that span from Renaissance repertoire to contemporary music. Their expressive performances have fascinated listeners on numerous international stages, leading to regular collaborations with Austrian cultural organizations such as Kunsthalle Wien, Die Jeunesse, Wiener Musikverein, and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tehran.
Duo Zaher has performed on many prestigious stages worldwide, including in Mexico, Austria, Italy, Denmark, The Netherlands, Romania, Poland, Germany, Spain, and Iran. They have been invited as jury members at prominent guitar competitions, including the Forum Gitarre Wien International Guitar Festival and Competition in Austria, and the Asia International Festival and Competition in Thailand. Additionally, they have held masterclasses at renowned guitar festivals and music academies such as the Conservatorio de Música de Chihuahua in Mexico, the Sønderborg Music Academy in Denmark, and the Hamburger Gitarrenfestival in Germany.
For the 2024/2025 season, Duo Zaher has received invitations from esteemed festivals in Europe and Asia, including those in Thailand, Italy, Romania, and Germany. The duo is also looking forward to several concerts at the Wiener Musikverein in the coming year.
