Twin sisters Sara and Sanaz Zaher graduated with their Master’s degrees from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) under Prof. Jorgos Panetsos.They further pursued their Postgraduate studies in Performance and Ensemble Playing.

Duo Zaher captivates audiences with their masterful interpretations,spanning from Renaissance repertoire to contemporary music. Their expressive performances have fascinated listeners on numerous international stages, leading to regular cooperation with Austrian cultural organizations such as the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Kunsthalle Wien, Die Jeunesse, Wiener Musikverein and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tehran.

Duo Zaher have performed on many prestigious stages worldwide including in Mexico,Thailand, Nepal, Austria, Italy, Denmark,The Netherlands, Romania, Poland, Germany, Spain, and Iran. They have been invited as jury members at prominent guitar competitions, including the Forum Gitarre Wien International Guitar Festival and Competition in Austria, the Asia International Festival and Competition in Thailand and The Transilvania international guitar festival and competition in Romania. Additionally, they have held masterclasses at renowned guitar festivals and music academies such as the Conservatorio de Música de Chihuahua in Mexico, the Sønderborg Music Academy in Denmark, Hamburger Gitarrenfestival in Germany and Kathmandu International Guitar Festival in Nepal. 

For the 2025/2026 season, Duo Zaher has received invitations from renowned festivals in Europe and Asia, including Philippines, China, Mexico, Colombia, Romania, Italy, Iran and Austria. Duo Zaher is also looking forward to several concerts at the Wiener Musikverein and Vienna Konzerthaus in the coming year. 

Duo Zaher is the winner of many international competitions such as:

• Grand Prix – Vienna International Artists Competition, Austria

• 1st Prize – 6th Florence International Guitar Competition, Italy

• 1st Prize – Transilvania International Guitar Competition, Romania

• 2nd Prize – 15th Veria International Guitar Competition, Greece

• 3rd Prize – 13th Joaquín Rodrigo International Guitar Competition, Poland
